Level 8 Drive-In Summer Movie Series
at The Grove & The Americana at Brand

The Grove kicked off the inaugural Level 8 Drive-In month-long summer movie series on the rooftop of the parking garage. This event series included sponsors such as an Uber Lounge for guests who opted not to drive and delicious food packages for purchase. Each movie featured iconic vehicles and live pre-show entertainment. Set against the beautiful evening city skyline, Level 8 Drive-In at The Grove was an instant hit for summertime fun.

With the success of the movie series at The Grove, Street Food Cinema partnered with Caruso to put on a second summer long movie series at The Americana at Brand. With the shutdowns across the country, guests were eager for a safe and fun night out. Each movie was quickly sold out and guests kicked back to watch favorite flicks within the safety of their own vehicles, dined on tasty dinner packages, and enjoyed fun complimentary treats.

 

Art Direction

I wanted to create a design that was eye-catching but clearly spoke to what the event was by utilizing an image of the Los Angeles skyline. I added layers of gradients to make the colors more vibrant and exciting. For the logo lockup, I wanted to pay homage to the marquee on the side of The Grove parking structure and hence created a stylistic logo with a nostalgic tie-in through the script font pairing. A modern drive-in movie experience with a nod to the past.
